At northwestern Onondaga County is the town of Cicero, a suburb of Syracuse. The town is located in Central New York and has a population of approximately 30,000 people. Cicero is Central New Yorks fastest-growing town. Residents of Cicero enjoy various recreational opportunities provided by the town's fortunate location. Locals can go boating or fishing at Williams Park or Oneida Shores County Park, both overlooking Oneida Lake, one of the largest bodies of water in New York. There is also a park on the riverfront in Brewerton. The famous Erie Canal flows along Oneida River to the north of town. Currently, many old, run-down properties are being converted into retail plazas like The Marketplace, making for an expanding and evolving atmosphere.
